Design and Development

Some companies call it their skunk works, but we call it the SWAMP - the birthplace of advanced development at Royal Technologies. Sequestered from the rest of our operations, the SWAMP has a team of dedicated engineers and designers who focus exclusively on developing, designing and implementing new processes and products. The SWAMP is equipped with prototyping facilities, a tool room, tryout presses and validation and testing equipment. Our goal is to provide quick and inexpensive concept products. If a project doesn't work, we'll move on. If it shows potential, we'll dig in and work out the kinks.

We take a holistic approach to design to ensure that our components work within the end product or process. From materials to manufacturing to assembly, we focus on the needed end result and design in value at each successive step. Our design processes include:

• DFMEA/PFMEA
• APQP

Our goal is to nail the right design early on and avoid problems that can ripple through engineering, production and delivery.
